He Draws with his What?!

About a year ago I encountered a troll - not the green kind with snot bubbling out of its nose - the more common, but just as infrequently seen, internet troll. Hiding behind his keyboard, proclaiming "Fake art!" as I actively worked on a large charcoal piece. After giving him a chance, showing my work up close so that he could see the textures and mark making, he was still not convinced. It wasn't until he slandered my music that my mods decided it was enough and blocked him. We shared some chuckles at his absurdity, but the troll’s words managed to seep into my thoughts.

And so, a week later, I decided to draw that troll, with my feet, live in front of a number of people, many watching in horror, as I shuffled my dogs across the 18x24" drawing pad, all while listening to classic foot-themed jams like "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" and "Footloose". A couple hours and a few leg cramps later, Michelangetoe was born.

And a month after that, I was back to my artoestry, creating the Toena Lisa and Vincent Van Toe, and most recently, the Girl with the Pearl Toe Ring, each done with different mediums. Now, perhaps you are wondering the same as many of my friends - why? More than anything, I want to show people that they can create, whether they can draw a straight line or not. Hands or no hands. I also try to show that art doesn't have to be serious. The stories they tell oftentimes are far more valuable than the work themselves.

So, who knows where my pediartry will lead next? But one thing's for sure: art isn't reserved for steady hands or fancy tools. Everyone can create something beautiful—or hilariously weird—if they dare to get their feet wet.
